Services
- Develop concepts and ideas into workable glassware designs. These designs are then fabricated into one-of-a-kind prototypes. As research progresses, the glassware design can be modified as required.
- Produce glassware from drawings, sketches or prototypes. Modifications are easily accommodated.
- Repair or alter existing glassware.
- Provide on-site repair, installation, alteration or troubleshooting of glassware systems.
- Provide instruction in scientific glassblowing.
- Serve as a resource for technical, material and product information.
- Jobs are done on a first-come, first-served basis. Exceptions may be made for repairs that are critical to an ongoing research project. Every effort will be made to complete a job that is required for a project deadline.
- Glassware brought to the Glass Shop for repair must be thoroughly cleaned.
- Tubing is supplied by the Glass Shop.
- Researchers must provide the materials required for the job (e.g., ground glass joints, stopcocks, flasks, etc.)
- Special items required for a job can be ordered by the Glass Shop.
