Chemistry Shops Training Interest Form

In-person training events offered include:

  • Scientific Glassware Design – Learn how to design custom glassware for chemical research.
  • Plumbing for Chemists – Learn how to construct, repair, and design tubing systems for chemical instrumentation. Discussion will involve liquid, gas, vacuum, and high pressure systems.
  • Fasteners for Chemists – Learn the “how” and “why” of mechanical joining. Special focus will be made to scientific applications.
  • Frameworks for Chemists – Learn how to design and construct instrumentation frames using off-the-shelf structural framing systems.
  • 3D Printing for Chemists – Learn about our in house 3D printing capabilities, the unique properties of plastics and composites, and how to create a simple 3D object.
  • Soldering for Electronics – Learn hand soldering, surface mount soldering, desoldering, and epoxy potting for electronics.
  • Introduction to KiCad – Learn to draw circuits and layout PCBs using KiCad.
  • Introduction to yaq – Learn the easy way to computer control your hardware.
  • MQTT: Internet of Sensors – Learn how to plug your data into our MQTT server, enable communication between disparate instruments, and add data logging with minimal hardware/software.
